Healing through Self Love

Image

These two years of my spiritual journey has been learning about self love through healing.  Self love forces us to find the truth about ourselves, how ever difficult the truth may be to face. We see ourselves in all of our blemishes, sores, hurts, and wounds.  In spite of all this, we learn to love ourselves with compassion and kindness, and then with determination, we make the decision to change those parts of us.

As a result of this self love, we begin to see others in the same light.  We are compassionate about the wounds and injuries of others, and we give the same compassion and kindness to them that we give to ourselves. We begin to understand how hard others have tried in their best to love and care for us, despite their own struggles and difficulties.  I am humbled by my understanding with clarity of all this.

With self love, we begin to care for ourselves in ways that we have never been able to before.  We must take our emotional healing and ascension work as a priority in our lives, even if it means leaving the relationships we have become familiar and habituated.  We begin new patterns of behaviors with those in our lives who are willing to accept our changes and continue in these new patterns of behaviors with us.

My revelation in my awakening is that I am an extraordinary, powerful, and beautiful being. I just couldn’t see this in myself before, but only saw a broken, injured, and vulnerable little girl hidden in a woman’s body.  Now, I can clearly see these qualities in others as well. I finally have found myself, and found the love for myself as well. Eternal love and light to you, Brooke (Copyright 2013 Burrowing Owl Press/Brooke Chang with All Rights Reserved)
