The path to awakening is not through meditation, yoga, or ritual practice, it is through our genuine intention to change our lives. Awakening happens for people who are seeking another way of life, and seeking truth about our existence here. That’s why awakening can happen to people who are not consciously seeking awakening like me.
Ascension work is our way of working through the awakening process. Once we give our sincere intentions to change our lives, we must give a commitment to this change, and face our fears when confronted with this change. Therefore, if we say we want to change, then when it is time, we may need to leave our jobs, marriages, relationships, and friendships that no longer serve our spiritual life. This commitment means that we must do just that. If we don’t, we become stuck in this awakening process at that stage.
The next big hurdle is releasing our egos. When we are codependent in relationships or situations, the ego will not let go easily. It will hold on for dear life. Those of us who experienced trauma as children will have a harder time of releasing our egos.
This may be complicated by awakening or anyone who develops psychic abilities through spiritual work. When we have ego inflation from our new intuitive and psychic abilities, we become stuck spiritually because now our egos identify with being a psychic, further hanging onto this ego. Ego inflation also further exacerbates codependency with others through energy and psychic connections with them.
In order to overcome these hurdles, we must have awareness of our condition so as to avoid denial in order to ascend to spiritual enlightenment. We must go back to do the necessary emotional healing work of our injuries and wounds, let go of ego, heal our karma, learn self love, live without expectations of outcome, and learn unconditional love and compassion. After this work is done, we will ascend to another way of being.

glad we are on this path together. i see so many parallels and feel what you are feeling as well. been quite the battle of duality as of late, but i feel a major shift in the last few days!
