As we live our lives, we experience a series of life lessons. We may be unaware that we are being tested in order to move forward spirituality and emotionally. It is coming to awareness of what that life lesson is that we are experiencing, and understanding what is required of us in order to move forward emotionally and spiritually.
I have gone through most of my life completely unaware of my life lessons, and thus, I have repeated these same life experiences many times. Because of the blinders we have on, we are unable to see people, events, and experiences we attract and are sent to us to help us learn our life lessons. In each of these life lessons, we must pass a test.
For example, I have attracted and have been sent men who resemble my father, and as a result, I endured and suffered terrible physical and emotional injuries and pain. During each of these relationships, I needed to let go of my father emotionally, by releasing the attachment and dependency to my father’s love. To learn to emotionally release attachment and dependency, please see my tab above on “Emotional Release Practice.” What I have learned recently is that love from another is always conditional and temporary.
Only love from ourselves can be unconditional and cannot be taken away, but we must learn to love ourselves unconditionally. If I failed to release this attachment to my father’s love, I will forever be unable to truly let anyone into my life. We cannot truly love another unconditionally, until we first have learned to love ourselves unconditionally.
Our society does not teach unconditional love in that we love another because they offer something to us, and we offer something to them. It is an exchange, and when that exchange is no longer equal then we leave that relationship. The only person who can truly give us unconditional love is ourselves. It is only with this unconditional love that we can find self reliance, independence, and self love.
Once I came to this realization and released the attachment and dependency to my father’s love, I then passed my test that my life lesson was intended to teach me. Each life lesson has a test. If we do not pass that test, we do not move onto our next life lesson. When we know what the test is in our life lesson, we then finally can pass our test.
