Relationship Dynamics

I have uncovered something that I have never fully understood earlier in my life.  It is how events and relationships occur in our lives. When people come into or events occur in my life, I never understood which ones are intended to remain for a longer duration in my life and which ones are intended to be a short duration as life lessons to help us learn something about our lives or ourselves.

Well, it has much to do with synchronicity.  I believe that those who we are intended to meet in our lives, we will meet them.   When we meet them, I believe that it will be very easy and effortless.  It will feel like flowing down a languid river, very fluid without much turbulence.  We will want to spend time with them and look forward to their company.

If it is a romantic relationship, each will be unencumbered that is they are not married, or in another committed relationship.  The timing will be right and there are no barrier for the union. The feelings of passion will be immediate and it will feel right.  If it is a true friendship, the bond is very loyal with a commitment to care and support each other. There are no questions of motives or why they are our friends.  These relationships are long lasting.

The relationships involving those who are intended to teach us our life lessons or about ourselves are very turbulent, difficult, and stressful.  It feels like fitting a square peg into a round hole. No matter how we push it through, it doesn’t seem to quite fit right.  Although they will not remain long in our lives, they serve an important role of teacher for our life lessons.

Because of my own dysfunctional family dynamics, I never learned healthy relationships and boundaries.  Therefore, I never understood this.  Since having this insight, I am no longer so bewildered about the relationships in my life.
