Living in the Moment

Image

Today was a much needed day for me to live in the moment. It has been a hectic week, so a day of glassblowing at my apprenticeship with a Glass Artist was just what I needed.  This Glass Artist is female, and there are no ego battles in the studio.  She is nurturing, understanding, and patient.
Glassblowing is an intensive experience where each step requires focus, attention, and coordination.  It is also a meditative process where we flow with the rhythm of the gaffer or the main glassblower.  We are finding our rhythm between the gaffer and her two apprentices.  I feel very blessed to have found this Glass Artist as I was without a studio near my home for some time.

I try to do activities that allow me to live in the moment.  My other favorite pass time is rocking climbing.  Both these activities have a certain level of danger involved whether it’s fire or heights, and require absolute focus during the process. I truly love these activities, as I blow glass and rock climb weekly. My life is truly blessed with such treasures and people with whom to share them.
