Creating Karma

ImageWe create karma every day and in every lifetime, and some of us have much karma to resolve in our soul lives.  Recently, I made some decisions about creating and resolving my own karma.  As a victim for most of life, I have repeatedly been hurt and injured since I was a victim of childhood abuse who frequently will attract more abuse until we have healed our emotional wounds.

During these incidences, I would point out the wrongs done to me.  As I did this, I realized that I was creating a karmic cycle with these individuals.  Therefore, I was creating bad karma that I must later resolve in my soul life.  After realizing this, I decided to take responsibilities for my own life, and instead of pointing fingers at wrongdoers, I apologized for my part of the situation. I also realize that I must stop engaging in this type of behavior so as not to create more bad karma for my soul life.

I know that by taking responsibility and by taking the high road, that I would be able to resolve bad karma that I created with these individuals.   We each have karma that we must resolve and the more bad karma we create the more work we have ahead of us to resolve this karma.  What I have observed is that when we create bad karma through our actions, we ultimately will not succeed in the endeavors that arise out of bad karma.  For instance, if you stole money from others and used that money for a business venture, that business will unlikely succeed and will be frought with problems.  This is how I have observed karma to work.  No good will result from negative or hurtful behaviors or actions.

Understanding this about karma, I have decided to behave and act in the highest possible way, regardless of how others have treated me in the past or present.  Vengeance will only attracts more vengeance.  Although I have forgiven those who hurt me and asked for forgiveness of those I hurt, I will unlikely support those who continue to injure others through selfish and hurtful behaviors. May you create good karma everyday.  ~ Brooke (Copyright 2013 Kundalini Spirit with All Rights Reserved)

  1. Good post. I have issues with Karma. Do you go along with belief that our lives are a result of past lifetimes good/bad actions?

    1. I have had some unresolved bad karma from my past lives that I am now having to resolve in this lifetime, and it has been a difficult road for me, but I see an end in sight. That is why I am conducting my life very differently now due to these karmic relationships that I recently experienced. Blessings, Brooke

      1. Okay. Here we go. My thing is this. So are you saying that because I suffer things because of my black skin that I and others have done things in our past lives. And to all the slaves? I am trying to make sense of this? And who is the judge, jury and executioner to decide who gets what, when and where?

        1. Thank you for your thoughts and comments. There are no judges, jury, or executors when it comes to karma. For every action, there is simply a reaction. Each soul has acquired karma over many lifetimes. We simply do not remember what we have done in past lives. Many Kundalini active individuals actually remember our past lives. Some recall murdering others during the crusades, others executed and killed people, and some remember enslaving others. This becomes karma that remains with our souls through each physical incarnation. When we are faced with hardships in this lifetime, we are working to resolve our past karma. You are not being judged. I hope this clarifies things.Blessings, Brooke

          1. So since black people have received shitty treatment from the majority in America, we must have all done something terrible to deserve brown skin? Every unpleasant thing that happen to me is a result of something I did in a past life life? How do we know this and I hope its not based on faith as faith is not a pathway to truth. I guess I really try to figure out why slavery happened and are you saying as a collective we did something so horrible to have endured that?

          2. Thanks for responding. So people that have great lives who are wealthy and relatively happy did great. There has to be some type of judgement or how else does all this get doled out and where are such records of what I did kept. I really am trying to figure this out.

            1. Thank you for opening up such an enlightening dialogue as I currently am the Director of Diversity and Equity working with students, faculty, and staff at my college in the civil rights area, including discrimination, sexual harassment, and disability rights. Let me first say that I do not condone or support discrimination or oppression of any kind by one person or group on another. It is not that a person is deserving of being enslaved by others because of what they have done in the past. When others mistreat us, it is bad karma they have attached to their souls. As a collective, we have egos that caused much of this pain and harm. Please see my post on this topic as follows: https://kundalinidotorg.wordpress.com/2013/07/18/egos-power/

When we seek vengeance upon one another, it creates this karmic cycle between us and them, and that bad karma becomes attached to our souls. It is this karmic cycle that keeps this pain and hurt active between souls through each incarnation. The only way out of this karmic cycle is through forgiveness and taking responsibility for the hurt and pain we caused. It is not judgment, but it is physics at play here. That is why Jesus Christ, Muhammad, Buddha, the Dalai Lama, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Mother Theresa, and Gandhi, all preach forgiveness, compassion, and unconditional love because this is the way to overcome and resolve our karma with others and to reach a place of peace for our world. Blessings of love to you, Brooke

                1. Our egos need to know all of this about our future based on our past. If we live without expectation of outcome for our lives and try to do the right things, you will get the outcome you hope for. There are no guarantees and that is what you may be seeking. It is called surrender and releasing ego that can help us come to acceptance without our need to control that is the need of ego. The answer you seek is within you. As you continue to seek, you shall find your answer. Blessings of healing light, Brooke

                  1. I appreciate you responding in detail. It is certainly not ego. I simply want to know more about that and I am just not getting any answers no matter who I pose these questions to. I am certainly not looking for guarantees as a Buddhist we realizew everything changes. Now with all that being said,I think its one thing to say if you sow apples you will reap apples but its a whole different ball game once you start going to past lives. The unsubstantiated belief that our past lives dictate how good or shitty our lives are a sophisticated form of victim blaming. From what I have researched alot of these old teachings originated from when the caste system was very heavy and the upper crust used it as a tool to justify why things were the way they were. The lower caste were told they werent deserving of the good things because they hadn’t been good in the past life. I think its still a sophisticated form of victim blaming. I will be writing a blog post about Karma. To say that children of abuse, those who are raped, those who have been enslaved for generations did something in their past lives is atrocious. Thank you for engaging and I do respect your opinions.
