Learn to Love Yourself

As humans we take comfort in routines that give us a sense of normalcy and security.  As I have been sick with a cold for the last few days, I have been home nursing this cold.  I didn’t realize how comforting it is to get up, make my coffee, drive to work, and have my days at work.

It gives me great comfort to know that on certain days of the week, I have my guitar lesson, rock climbing with friends, tango lesson, and glassblowing apprenticeship. These activities have become my regular routine, and brings joy to my life.  When I awake each day, I am happy to be alive playing my guitar or piano, writing music, blowing glass, rock climbing, or Latin dancing.

My life is filled with activities that require living in the moment. What my activities have in common is that each requires a certain focus of being in the moment, and feeling the now.  When I am alone in my activities, I am with me and am my own company, and give myself the full attention that I earlier needed from others.
