Waking up from Illusions

When our lives are filled with hurt and pain from our past and childhood memories, we hang onto so much hate and anger.  All these negative emotions take over our lives that cloud our perspective.  We truly cannot see our world clearly as our vision is skewed, and we live in an illusion in order to survive.

One day we wake up to see our reality.  Those we thought were our friends may have deceived us as that was what we wanted and needed to hear from them to keep our illusions alive.  Our world begin to unravel as we know it. Instead of more hurt and anger, this is the time to understand why this has happened to us?  Why have we surrounded ourselves with people who deceive us? The answer is because we seek out these individuals in order to perpetuate the illusion we have created for ourselves.

I begin to understand now why people lie.  There are two parties to every lie, those who want to please others and those who want to be pleased.  These two parties perform a choreagraphed dance with each other reflection back exactly what they want and need from one another.  In this symbiotic relationship, both parties get their needs met as neither can face their truths, so they continue to perpetuate each others’ illusions.

Facing the truth about ourselves is difficult as we must see ourselves with blemishes, flaws, and even darkness.  Before we can change ourselves and ascend, this is a necessary step before ascension is possible.  Recently a wise friend said to me, “sometimes we need to learn through darkness before we can reach the light.”  This is my lesson learned, and I have taken these words to heart.
