In my earlier posts, I wrote about how our egos can blind us from the most obvious life problems we face. These monumental problems are clearly obvious to others observing our lives, but we may be unaware and unable to acknowledge these life problems. I see this nearly everyday at my job when students commit physical and sexual violence, and are suspended or dismissed from school or end up in jail for these criminal behaviors.
Have you every wondered, “why is my life like this?” Sometimes, we must hit bottom when we are confronted by divorce, bankruptcy, termination from our jobs, losing our licenses to work, dismissal from school, or end up in jail before we begin to face our reality and our life problems. The human mind is both amazing and ignorant, and it’s difficult to comprehend how it can be both at the same time.
Our lives must fall apart where we have essentially destroyed ourselves before we are able to confront and acknowledge the destruction we have caused ourselves. These problems are life lessons given to us, and if we don’t change our path and behaviors, these life lessons will simply repeat. In almost every case at my job, I observe students blaming others for their own destructive behaviors refusing to take responsibility, and they even are unaware that they are destroying themselves and their lives.
As an observer, I can only feel empathy and compassion for them, but understand with sadness that I have no power to change them, but only to encourage them and hope they take the right path and learn their life lessons. (Copyright 2015 Awakening Journey with All Rights Reserved)
