PATHWAY TO JOY AND HEALING

Everyone distrusts a hypocrite, and this hypocrisy can be seen in the spiritual community just like any other community.  The spiritual community composes of many different religious beliefs from major religions such as, Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Muslim, Buddhism to alternative religions, such as, Panenthesim, Asatru Pagan Tradition (Wicca), Gnosticism, Kabbalah, Scientology, New Age, Peyote and the Native American Church (just to name a few).  However, the foundation of all these religions is to do no harm to others, and particularly, for personal gain.

Regrettably, many spiritual leaders and teachers have used their positions of authority to engage in romantic, sexual, and/or intimate relationships crossing boundaries into spiritual and/or sexual abuse.  Spiritual leaders/teachers have called this sharing or teaching spiritual love.  These pervasive occurrences involve Catholic priests sexually abusing children in their churches and Buddhist and spiritual gurus having sex with their followers/students, a crime of rape as the sex is coerced (just to name a few violations).

The unreported incidents must be rampant in the major religions, and probably even more in the alternative religions.  As the churches and organized religious organizations refuse to take action or are unable to govern their own, it is left to the criminal justice system to handle and resolve the sexual abuse and rape of these victims. This is a sad state of affairs and very dark period of human evolution when our spiritual leaders/teachers have devolved into sexual abuse and rape against vulnerable victims, the most heinous of crimes.  The emotional injuries caused and the years of emotional healing that is required for these victims to recover are many.

I believe the rise of awakenings in the spiritual communities is occurring to help alter the dark path of human evolution.  When we awaken either as victims or accused, we become aware of and must confront the dark behaviors and actions from which we are suffering or are responsible.  No longer can one hide behind ego’s denials, avoidance, suppression, and repression in their psyches.  It is a time of awakening to humanity’s dark truth.  (Copyright 2015 Awakening Journey with All Rights Reserved)
