Ever wonder how we meet our soulmates and whether we can connect with them? The first things is that we meet our soulmates through synchronicity and organically. Synchronicity means that we meet them what appears to be coincidental with many strange coincidental connections between the two of you. Organically means we meet them in person. It is a meeting intended by the Universe, and it is not driven by ego such as through online dating.
I also believe that our souls must be ready for this connection in that we must be ready to love unconditionally, learn self love and worth, heal our emotional traumas, and make peace with our past. If not, we will be unable to be with them as we will drive them away, or will feel disconnected from them. I also believe there is more than one soulmate for each of us. If one soulmate is unable or unwilling to connect with us, it is best to move onto another soulmate.
I met my soulmate almost three years ago on this stretch of peninsula in Italy in the above photo. We recognized each other on a hiking trail there, and it turned out that we were staying at the same hotel. When we met, I knew within just a few minutes that we clicked like we have known each other forever and like old friends. In this instant, I recognized his soul.
He is a combination of the men I dated or married in my life. He is spiritual, an art teacher, sculptor and painter, jazz guitarist/musician, athletic, great cook, enjoys dancing, and loves the outdoors and travel. These are all the things I love in my life. He lived in New Jersey near where I grew up, and attended the college where my father served as a professor for 30 some years. He now lives near my family in Los Angeles. We are the same age, and the similarities just go on and on.
When I met him in Italy, we both were traveling alone and traveled to this little fishing village in Italy to hike, enjoy the Mediterranean Sea, heal our broken hearts, and find self love. After our visit to Italy, we both were attending different jazz festivals in Europe. We parted nearly three years ago, remained Facebook friends, and saw each other occasionally when I visited my family.
As I made peace recently with my past, and healed my childhood trauma, I was finally able to connect with him. We both recognize our connection is usual, and we both feel the same way about each other. I believe unrequited love are karmic relationships. If someone does not return your love, or feels differently about you, then that relationship is likely a karmic one.
Soulmates both feel the connection in the same way, and recognize these feelings instantly. We also do not find our soulmates, they find us when we least expect them. It is not ego driven in that we do not seek out our soulmates as soulmates simply find each other. (Copyright 2016 Awakening Journey with All Rights Reserved)
