The Magic of the Present Moment

Image

I completed the first part of my trip and headed to Monterosso in Cinque Terra in the Italian Riviera.  As I took the ferry from Corsica, France to Genoa, Italy enroute to Monterosso, I listened to the podcast of Oprah’s Book Club of Eckhart Tolle’s new book, “A New Earth.”  He talks about nonresistance, nonjudgment, and nonattachment.

As I took the train from Genoa to Monterosso, I was confronted with the practice of nonresistance, as I got off the wrong train stop and my worst fear came true.  I needed to check into my hotel by 8 pm and now I needed to wait an hour for the next train, and would end up checking in after 8 pm.  I felt my anxiety rising and immediately recognized my ego.  I took some deep breaths and began to practice experiencing the present moment.  Immediately, my panic and anxiety subsided.   I even stopped to grab a sandwich to dine among the beautiful mountains and sea.
Even my initial fear, that the hotel did not receive my reservation since I called and emailed them but did not receive a reply, subsided and I became engrossed in the scenery of the mountains and sea surrounding Cinque Terra. This is the magic of experiencing the present moment. Sending love, Brooke (Copyright 2013 Kundalini Spirit with All Rights Reserved)

    1. Hi Audrey, I have read “The Power of Now,” and found it powerful. I appreciate Tolle’s efforts to make his reading more understandable to the public in his new book, “A New Earth.” Thanks for all your love and support. Blessings, Brooke
