One of the most difficult part of ego is overcoming our need for guarantees in our lives to feel secure and safe. This part of our ego’s desires is how many of us function in our lives. The reality is this is neither realistic nor is it possible. It is a fiction that our egos have created for ourselves. We want to know that we have jobs, that our marriage will continue, that our children our safe, and that we will have enough money for our futures.
First of all, there are so many outcomes in our world that we simply cannot control. When we fully release ego, we will no longer dwell on our past or worry about our futures. We begin to live without expectations of outcome. When others say the world will come to an end, or that we will face some terrible tragedy, once we have released our egos, we no longer feel this fear. This fear simply is of no consequence to us since we understand that this fear is perceived. I do not mean we don’t plan for the future, we do, but we do not expect future outcomes to be a certain way that we desire. Without ego, we no longer feel the need to control outcome, and we come to accept whatever outcome we face in our lives.
Releasing ego is our path to peace for our lives. We can plan for our futures as much as possible, such as attend school to get a degree, get married and work at the marriage, have children and try to be a good parent, etc. Once we have done this, we let it go. We allow ourselves to surrender and accept whatever our future will unfold for us. May you find this peace within, Brooke (Copyright 2013 Kundalini Spirit with All Rights Reserved)
