Spiritual Journey through the Wizard of Oz

Do you remember the movie, the Wizard of Oz?  Many in the spiritual community compare the spiritual journey to this movie.  Well, in my case, I find so many parallels that is uncanny.  Along my journey, I always had three women friends that I met along the way.  There is always one really smart one (scare crow), one unemotional one (tin man), and one fearful one (the lion).  Along this journey my faithful friends stood by me to support, encourage, and inspire me to move forward no matter how scary things got for us.

We met the wicked witch who can be a man or women and his/her evil minions (flying monkeys and foot soldiers) to do his/her bidding to oppress and frighten us.  Like Dorothy on her journey along the yellow brick road to the Emerald City to find the Great OZ who is our higher self, the all knowing to lead us on our chosen path.  Also like Dorothy, the ruby slippers she wore was her power to return home to Kansas for we too have the power within us to return to our souls.  These are the lessons for Dorothy and for me.

Along the way, we meet wonderful Munchkins and the good witch, but we are not to stay in this safe place for we must move forward on our journey to the Emerald City.  Like Dorothy, I found wonderful people along the way who I loved and shared experiences, but that is not to last for I must move forward on my journey to return to my soul along my chosen path. Today, I said goodbye to my faithful friend the scare crow since she found another job, and will be moving away.  This was bitter sweet for I am so happy for her to find her path forward although it is no longer with me.  Our paths crossed, but now we part to travel forward separately as these partings are bitter sweet, and full of happy tears.

What I have realized is that everything happened in my life as it was suppose to happen.  Everyone we meet, we are suppose to meet. Every event happens for a reason, some may be to complete our life lessons, other are intended to help us let go of our past, and some are life long friends we have made.  Life is a beautiful journey, and if we see that everything that happens to us and everyone we meet are suppose to be, then there are no regrets but only joy and peace for this wondrous experience we call life. 1. Good observations… Thankfully you used the movie, which is wonderful, to craft your post, and not the book, which is horrid.
