Since beginning ascension practice, I have repeatedly heard those in the spiritual community say that we must surrender in order to ascend. For a long while, I never understood what that means. Yesterday, I was at my glassblowing apprenticeship blowing hot glass when I finally understood what everyone is talking about.
Molten glass reacts to heat, the time exposed to heat, and to gravity, very much like how our world works. It is unpredictable, sometimes out of control, and molten glass has a will of its own. When I blew glass in the past, I always wanted to control the glass, and wanted to conquer it. What I experienced though was just the opposite, the more I tried to control it, the more anxious I became. Inevitably, my glass creation would break, crack, or fall off the punty, the rod that holds the molten glass.
When we surrender to the process, it is entering this very zen place within usually in our right brain where we are not aware of time. In this place, we live in the moment and that moment is perfect. There are no deadlines to meet, no texts to return, and no phone calls to answer. When we enter this space, we are one with our higher self. Her voice is the loudest, clearest, and the most authentic. In this meditation, we allow the molten glass to flow as an extension of us as we become one with the glass.
Life is like molten glass, it must be allowed to flow without being controlled or handled. When we reach this place in our spiritual life, we do not resist what is before us. We do not fight what is happening to us, and we accept our life as it is as it is neither good nor bad since we longer judge ourselves. When we allow our life to flow in this way, we can still make the very best effort in our endeavors, but we accept outcomes as they occur without fear of rejection or failure as our life outcomes no longer reflect our self worth and image.
Yesterday was such a day as my eyes filled with tears of knowing that I am in this perfect place and here is where I shall find happiness for my life. May you learn surrender to find your true happiness, Brooke (Copyright 2014 Kundalini Spirit with All Rights Reserved)
