This most recent period of my life has been filled with synchronized events. The last time synchronized events like this occurred to me was three years ago when I moved to this small rural mountain community where I changed careers and found the position at a college that appeared to be made for me. I quickly made friends, found activities I love, and even found a glassblower who was seeking a production assistant as I have been studying glassblowing.
Recently, my job has transformed as my supervisor suddenly announced her retirement, and I was allowed to hire a professional staff to assist me. My activities are multiplying to include rock climbing, salsa dancing, guitar lessons, writing music, glassblowing, studying Reiki, yoga, traveling, kayaking, hiking, and biking.
The friends I’ve made here, I believe, will be my life long friends who I trust, admire, and love. One of my friends is pregnant. This morning while at work, a voice within me told me to call her. When I called her and she picked up the phone, she and husband were in her car enroute to the hospital as her water had just broken. Wow, it was amazing to be in the mist of her excitement!
After work, I went to the store to pickup a gift for my friend’s newborn baby. My friend’s favorite animal is the monkey, so I was looking for a stuffed monkey for her newborn baby. A lady next to me was looking for toys for her kids, and we shared our respective reasons for shopping. Without a word from me about looking for a stuffed monkey, she handed me a stuffed monkey out of the blue. It was most amazing that she knew what I wanted without my even telling her. This synchronicity brought such joy to me and a big smile to my face.
