Boundary Violations and Sex with Clients

Whether you are a spiritual healer, counselor, massage therapist, Reiki practitioner, energy worker, or anyone practicing the healing arts, please read this study on boundary violations and sex with clients.  Your clients are not your friends as they seek your help for healing and recovery.

It is very common that clients desire a sexual relationship with their healers particularly if there is abuse in their history, and because of the intimate nature and trust developed in treatment.  However, this is not true consent for a sexual relationship, due to the unequal power dynamic and power differential between the healer and the client.

Please stop and think about the harm you are causing your clients who trust you, so please “do no harm” to your clients. Here is an abstract from a recent study in the link below:

  1. Agreed. Practitioners should freakin’ know better. People are at some of their most vulnerable state, and sometimes the advances are NOT welcome!!!!

    1. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this important topic! Many practitioners are themselves emotionally immature or psychologically injured and should not be treating or attempting to heal others. Love and light!
