In earlier posts, I shared the layers of healing for our emotional bodies. I am digging deeper into inner layers of my emotional body, and learning the internal triggers creating negative emotions as they come into my awareness. My earlier healing were outer layers of my emotional body triggered by external forces raising anger, resentment, and fear. These recent experiences involve deeper layers and all in my head without external factors to trigger them.
My internal triggers are associated with my childhood abuse that involve normal activities in my life triggering these negative emotions. Many of these negative emotions relate to feelings of self worth of feeling unloved, unwanted, and isolation. The first step is awareness, then observing these negative emotions and understanding their cause, and finally allowing these emotions to pass and release. The most difficult part of this work is our willingness to sit with these negative emotions without escaping them, avoiding them, or denying them.
After I experience these negative emotions, my tendency is to resort to my old addictions to cope with these negative emotions through escape and avoidance. This revelation that every day activities can trigger such deep wounds comes as a surprise to me. It just shows how deep these layers of pain still lie within my emotional body and are stored there until I have faced and resolved my past emotional wounds. May you find healing for your life.
