Contract with Our Souls

After receiving some questions about beginning a spiritual journey, I want to share with you about how to begin. Everything you need to begin your journey already exists in your current life.  You already have attracted those very people, events, and situations that you need to begin your journey, since we attract who we are, not who we want.

The very first step into your inner journey is your willingness and courage to take this step. It is saying to yourself, “I am ready and will give my commitment to do this.” Taking this step is to believe that you have the courage to step into what you have been afraid to see about yourself and what you will find. What I can tell you is that even what I see that I don’t like about myself, I have learned to love me for who I am or I will change it.

A spiritual journey is not about meditation, yoga practice, energy work, or even feeling good.  It is a quest to find our own truth about ourselves, and then coming to terms within ourselves despite what we find.  It is equivalent to our society’s stereotype of a romantic love in that we fall in love with ourselves, and then give a vow of marriage to love, honor, and cherish ourselves until death due us part.  It is a contract with our own souls.

Look at your current life.  There is already someone who reminds you of your mother, father, ex-wife, ex-husband, ex-boyfriend, or ex-girlfriend.  Here is your opportunity to learn from that person who will teach you what you need to learn about yourself, your emotional history,  and your emotional hurts and wounds.  Make a commitment to learn why you are with them, how they remind you of your past, and to heal your own pain from that past.  Be prepared that if the other cannot move on with you after you resolved your past through them, you may need to let them go.

Upon resolving these issues through those in your lives, you will find peace, joy, bliss, and free yourself of your own suffering. Your mind chatter will be reduced, you will get along better with others, you will not get angry and defensive about situations, and you finally will attract what you want.  Take this first step to the rest of your life.  May you find Peace, Brooke (Copyright 2013 Kundalini Spirit with All Rights Reserved)
