Outcomes through Karma

imageI have these moments in my life of sudden awareness, and I may be anywhere doing whatever.  The awareness, when it comes to me, has nothing to do with what I am doing at the moment.  These are the moments of my revelations, realizations, and learning my life lessons.

Recently, many of these aha moments have been coming to the surface and my awareness. What I have observed and experienced about outcomes resulting from karma is this.  When we experience karma, for instance, when we lie to others close to us, we then experience others close to us lying to us by some coincidence.  This is not coincidence as like attracts like under the Universal Law of Attraction. During each of these occurrences, we have an opportunity to have an aha moment instead of complaining about how others hurt us, and unable to see how we hurt others.  During these karmic situations, we also are led to other outcomes, and if we are intuitive enough, we will seek that alternative path.

For example, I observed this recently when a woman cheated on her live-in boyfriend with another man who she met on the Internet.  After a couple of years of continuing both relationships, she became very ill, and I believe this was the result of karma, although it appears unrelated.  During this time, her live-in boyfriend cared for her, and nursed her back to health. The cause of her karma gave her insight into another path for her life, and she finally married this live-in boyfriend the following year. Ultimately, this marriage caused the other man to leave.

During situations caused by our karma, we can take this opportunity to see what is before us, and make some choices to change our lives.  Whether it is to change our hurtful behaviors, give up our addictions, or our reactions to others, this is the opportunity to change our lives for the better. If we fail to see our outcomes in our lives are the cause of karma, these karmic outcomes will occur over and over again in our lives.

What I have learned about change is that we change because we want to change.  What others say to us may or may not have any impact.  I also stopped trying to convince others to do what is right, as this decision must be made by each adult in our own lives and in our own time.  We also must change for ourselves, and not for others. 1. Really poignant insight Brooke, one aspect of Karma is acting on the decisions we make and experiencing the consequences: the law of cause and effect. If we learn our “lesson” we effectively erase our karma. The bible says “Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.” Repent means turning inward and listen to “God” or higher self to gain further understanding. In Buddhism transcend karma by realizing our collective emptiness.
