What Goes Around, Comes Around . . .

karma Karma has always been one of the words that we throw around casually, but recently I saw karma in action, mine and others.  Karma can be harsh and unyielding, and I actually feel sorry for others who are facing their own negative karma.  The Universal Law of Karma or the law of cause and effect states that every action generates a force of energy that returns to us in like kind that is you reap what you sow.  I have seen the actions of those who injured others that generate a force of energy that is returned to them in like kind.  The very hurt and injury they caused to others eventually comes back to them in the same manner.  This karmic energy is returned from another, and usually not from the same person they injured or hurt and may not even relate to the prior situation.

Let me give you an example.  When we cheat on our beloved or lie to our loved ones, someone we love will cheat on us or lie to us. This has occurred to me and others I have observed, with sadness I watch them suffer, but it is their lesson to learn so they no longer repeat this same harmful behavior.  As I watch my own negative karma, I am learning my own life lessons.  Treat others with kindness, apologize for hurting them, and agree to stop your hurtful behaviors.  The first step is to have awareness of your actions and behaviors.  Become compassionate and see if your actions hurt others. If you have, apologize for your behaviors and agree to stop these behaviors.

For those of us who have been hurt, don’t hold a grudge even if the entire experience is painful as we can still be grateful for the lesson it brought us and for the fact that it is over.  This is the Seventh Law of Karma, the Law of Focus.  We can choose to continue to be angry or sad, or we can make the choice to move past the pain and be grateful for the experience.  We let it go, and heal our own negative karma.  May you heal your negative karma.  (Copyright 2015 Living Wide Awake with All Rights Reserved)
