PATHWAY TO JOY AND HEALING

The ego has planned out our lives, wishing for certain outcomes, controlling our future, and forcing its will on our external world.  What I have found is that we cannot will our future or control certain outcomes.  For example, we cannot make others fall in love with us as we may be incompatible, want different things, or we may already have a spouse and family.  We may not be successful at certain occupations or jobs, as we may not be suited or do not have the aptitude for them.

When we force our ego’s will on our future, we will usually end up unhappy as we may be disappointed when we don’t get what we desire, or may face rejection or failure.  What I have discovered is that the happiest people are willing to let go of what we have planned in our minds and truly believe there is something better waiting for us. We may not know the outcome or what is ahead, but we believe by letting go of our ego’s desires, we make room for something new and better for us.

I am in such a place in my life now, and am working very hard on letting go of what I have planned for my life.  Each plan that I imagined earlier for my life has not worked out, so now I am allowing the Universe to lead me on a higher path.  By letting go of my ego’s desires, I am making room for all the possibilities and for what is waiting for me.
