Surrendering What You Are

During my spiritual journey these past three and half years, what I have come to understand that to become the person we could become means giving up something in our current life, as it is not free.  This may be addiction, drama/chaos, dependency, dysfunction, playing the victims and being rejected, or other negative life patterns.

What I have had to give up is the patterns of my dysfunctional relationship with my parents and the dependency, chaos, and negativity associated with our behaviors.  When we give up these negative patterns, we let go of the need for their approval, fear of losing them, refusing to engage in negative and destructive behaviors, and do not tolerate the chaos and drama they create around them.

To my surprise, it has not been easy to give this up as I had become habituated to these negative patterns.  I have witnessed that pattern all around me in my current life, even though I have not spoken or interacted with my parents for many years.  I essentially adopted the pattern of behaviors they taught me and now is instilled within me.  In my emotional healing work, I have been working to change those behavioral patterns, and giving up those negative dynamics in my own life.

Giving up what is familiar, believe or not, is not that easy.  It takes discipline, emotional healing, encourage, and internal strength to say, no more; this stops with me.  When you are ready to take this courageous step, then you will, and it will be clear in your own mind that you must do this for yourself and for your own emotional and spiritual growth.  May you find the strength within to give up what you are for what you could become. 1. This is one of the greatest and the hardest philosophy in the journey of life. If we let go off the meanings that we have assigned to the most loved things, the things we think we can’t live without, then there opens are brighter door with rewards at a time you least expect. First we need to breathe out to breathe in a fresh one.
    Thank you for the touch!
